Different shaft, different result

Too often we hear in-experienced golfers claiming that a fitting isn’t important - just buy some clubs off marketplace. Little do they know how much of a difference the right set up can make to your game.

Golf Bunker member Michael Pitt recently noted he was struggling to get his long irons to stop when hitting approach shots. After assessing his equipment, Callaway TCB irons with Project x 6.0 shafts we changed his shafts to a set of Modus 105 X flex. After crunching some numbers we achieved what we wanted, highlighting how important it is to get fitted correctly as it has a huge impact on results.

Avg spin rate increased 10% while his long irons managed a 20% increase in spin numbers while only losing 2-3 meters of carry – the only change being the shaft. 

When you consider that in most cases, you would pay the same for a custom fitted set as you would for a set on the rack in a golf store, it makes sense to get any equipment you purchase custom fitted to suit your build, golf swing and ball flight.  And if you think you aren’t consistent enough to get custom fitted clubs, the reason we custom fit equipment is to make you a more consistent golfer!
